On April 20th<\/sup> you can learn more about dynamic sound zones in homes and in the healthcare system, when partners from ISOBEL present the project at an online meeting in the Danish Acoustical Society.<\/span><\/p>\n

The program introduces sound zones, their use cases, and the multi-modal research within interaction design in using this new technology. All presentations, excluding the general introduction, includes 10 minutes of interaction.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

How does sound zone technology fit into users\u2019 daily lives? And what\u00a0are the challenges for designing interaction with sound zones in homes? In this talk, Stine Schmieg Johansen\u00a0will present findings from her research into these questions. This includes (1) an\u00a0outline of use situations for sound zones in homes and (2) an investigation of\u00a0physical visualizations of sound zones that prompt different user experiences and\u00a0expectations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sound zones bring many new possibilities for experiencing sound in domestic and professional environments. We have become\u00a0accustomed to interacting with\u00a0our conventional multimedia devices, but sound zones add a multitude of new opportunities to how we as\u00a0humans may interact and alter our soundscape. In this talk, Rune M\u00f8berg Jacobsen will\u00a0present his preliminary work on how people might interact with sound zones,\u00a0by illustrating the challenges and present current novel solutions that will allow users to\u00a0understand and control sound zones.<\/span><\/p>\n
